FedEx Ground
This is a very economical way to ship small boxes in
Florida and Georgia with one or two day delivery.
Disadvantages are transit times are too long to go
outside of Florida and Georgia and they do turn the
boxes upside down from time to time.
FedEx Freight
This can be an economical way to ship palletized in
the Eastern United States. We don’t like to use this
method when there is a risk of freezing. We use the
pallet shipper with this method. Maximum number of
trays per pallet shipper is 128; minimum is 32 trays.
FedEx Heavyweight
This is our standard method of shipping palletized.
Generally 2 day. We use our number of trays per
pallet shipper is 96 trays; minimum is 32 trays.
Shipper must have a FedEx discount set up
separately from FedEx small package or the cost is
prohibitive.
Refridgerated LTL
We are fortunate in that there are a number of
companies that ship foliage from south and central
Florida throughout the US. We use our pallet
shippers for this method. Maximum number of trays
per pallet shipper is 128; minimum is 32 We are
fortunate in that there are a number of companies
that ship foliage from trays. Plants are protected from
heat in the summer and freezing in the winter.
Trucks are not always available. We have the best
luck getting on trucks going into the upper MidWest
and to California.
FedEx Small Package
This is the standard way we ship less than 18 small
boxes throughout the United States. Generally we
use 2 day for plants and next day priority for Ipomea
unrooted cuttings.
